Ans: Work to provide a variety of strategies to help manage pain through a combination of interventional and medication management.
Ans: A pain scale is used to rate the amount of pain you are in. 0 means you have no pain and 10 means you are experiencing the worst possible pain. 5 is a moderate amount of pain. As the scale goes up, the amount of pain you are in goes up. We use this scale to understand patient's pain level and set goals for pain relief.
Ans: You will be evaluated and a treatment plan will be made for you. This may or may not include pain medication.
Ans: Interventional pain management is the use of special procedures to treat and manage pain. These include but are not limited to injections of an anesthetic medicine or steroids around nerves, tendons, joints or muscles; spinal cord stimulators and radio-frequency ablation. Interventional medicine can help reduce pain, improve quality of life and allow for increased activities. It can be used as therapeutic or diagnostic.
